This is great! I often forget that the skull is round and hair 'forms around it'. Seeing the examples afterwards was very helpful, too! Thank you for this tutorial, if I ever post anything in the future using this I'll definately link it back to here. Thank you for making this!

Like the person that commented right before be just said, could you please show what it would look like if the hair is completely pulled back? (Adding on to that, like, without bangs? Because I can do it okay with bangs, but it turns out super weird from the front angle and without bangs)

XD I must be one of the few that likes to draw every hair strand. Not that it takes long, max 10 mins for advanced ones

Nice show of flow for hair ;]

I only add more details of hair strands when I'm aiming for realism or a more detailed drawing. But for cartoon/manga, it's not entirely necessary (but whatever floats your boat!) Thanks! :)

ah yeah, that explains it. I'm aiming for the photo realism style  so the more strands there is, the better. But soon I'll experinment with painting-like realism, busy as a bee :dummy:

Wow, best of luck with realism! It's really tough, but you can do it! :) I think patience and taking your time is key.

tehe, it's okay. For me, manga and cartoony style takes a lot of time ^^; but yes it does take time and patience, as for everything else ;]

This is awesome! I always just draw hair one way and then it just looks like a big helmet
